What travelers say:
This is a century-old shop and one of the three largest Taiyaki restaurants in Tokyo. The other two are the main store of Naniwa-ya in Azabu-juban and Wakaba in Yotsuya. Yanagiya Taiyaki is located on the well-known Amazake Yokocho in Ningyocho. You can see Yanagiya Taiyaki by turning into Amazake Yokocho from the A1 exit of the subway station and passing a small intersection. You can always see people queuing in front of the store. The reason for the long queues in this store should be that the Taiyaki is handmade, and there is only one chef making it, which slows down the process. Just like Naniwa-ya, the chef picks up the heavy single-scissor Taiyaki utensils, adds the prepared batter, then adds the red bean paste, and finally puts it in the oven.
